Summer fills up fast. Weddings, beach trips, family reunions, graduation parties, girls' weekends — and somewhere in the middle of all of it, you want to look and feel your absolute best. For a lot of people, that includes planning a wrinkle relaxer treatment well before the big day. The question is, how far in advance should you actually book?
This is one of the most common things we hear from new and returning clients at Platinum Sculpt. Whether someone is planning ahead for a destination wedding or finally booking the Botox appointment they've been putting off before a summer vacation, timing is everything. Get it right, and you walk into your event looking refreshed, rested, and completely natural. Leave it too late, and you may not see the full results in time.
Two weeks before your event is the absolute minimum you should allow. By that point, the neurotoxin has fully settled, any minor injection-site marks have resolved, and you can actually see what you have. It is not, however, much time if anything needs a touch-up.
Three to four weeks gives you the full result plus a window to come back in for a quick adjustment if one area needs a little more attention. This is the sweet spot for most clients and the timeline our team recommends most often.
If this is your first wrinkle relaxer treatment, plan for closer to four to six weeks. First-time clients do not yet know how their muscles will respond to Botox, and it takes a little longer to dial in the right dose and placement. More lead time means more room to get it exactly right before a major event.
Clients who have been coming in regularly have an established pattern. Their injector already knows how their muscles respond, how much product is needed, and where. That history allows for a slightly tighter pre-event booking window, though three weeks is still a comfortable target.
Horizontal forehead lines and the vertical lines between the brows, often called the 11s or glabellar lines, are the most requested areas before events. Smoothing these creates a cleaner, more rested appearance across the upper face.
The fine lines that fan out from the outer corners of the eyes become much more visible in bright light and photographs. Softening crow's feet is one of the most impactful things you can do before a summer event or vacation, especially if you will be outdoors.
A small amount of Botox placed strategically can subtly lift the brow, opening up the eye area and creating a more awake, refreshed look without any surgery or significant downtime.
The lip flip uses a small amount of neurotoxin just above the upper lip to relax the muscle slightly and allow the lip to roll outward. It creates a softer, more defined upper lip and works beautifully on its own or alongside lip filler.
If you feel self-conscious about the amount of gum that shows when you smile, Botox can gently reduce that. It is a subtle change that makes a real difference in photos.
These are the finishing-touch areas that many clients add on once they have been coming in for a while. Bunny lines are the diagonal creases that form on the nose when you scrunch your face. Chin dimpling, sometimes called a pebble chin, can also be smoothed with a small amount of Botox. Both show up in close-up photos more than people expect.
The most important rule for brides: do not try Botox for the first time in the weeks leading up to your wedding. If you have never had a wrinkle relaxer treatment before, your wedding is not the right time to experiment. Start earlier in your engagement so you have time to learn how your body responds, make any adjustments, and feel fully confident before the big day.
A bridal trial appointment, scheduled three to four months before the wedding, is a great way to test placement and dosing so that by the time your wedding arrives, the treatment is dialed in. Many brides also coordinate Botox with other pre-wedding skin treatments like facials, laser resurfacing, or filler for a comprehensive approach to looking their best.
A general bridal beauty prep timeline:
A vacation is a wonderful reason to book Botox. You will be in photos, you will be in the sun, and you will want to feel confident and refreshed the entire trip. The key is giving the treatment enough time to settle before you leave.
A few things to keep in mind:

Post-treatment care is straightforward, but following these guidelines helps protect your results:
Timing Botox well is not about vanity or last-minute panic. It is about giving yourself enough runway to get the treatment right, see the full result, and walk into your event or your vacation or your wedding feeling genuinely confident. The clients who do this consistently are the ones who never feel caught off guard by a photo or a mirror again.
